Rage Against Hostels In London
Ranting Rage from a local London Resident against some Hostel in London
People have their own opinions and may have some issues with Hostels and the people that stay in them, but this blog below circling the Internet, is over the top and very exaggerated, and is an example of the stereo type image some uninformed people have of London Hostels and what they stand for.
Hostels are not everyones perfect choice for budget accommodation, but they are clean, cheap and have great facilities on site, people stay in Hostels, Bed and Breakfasts, Hotels and Backpackers Youth Hostels, because they want to have a base away from home on a budget.
Some Hostels are not totally without blame, some may even have serous questions to answer, but drunken youths pissing on the street, can not be blamed on the Hostels.
Rage of local Resident against Hostel in London:
If you want to stay in a cheap rat hole and spend most of your trip to London indoors in a drunken stupor, sleep in rat infested piss soaked rooms, then this is the place for you. But spare a thought for the local residents who have to put up with your loutish disrespectful behaviour, your puking in the streets and in the corridors, your public urination (I have footage of this, ask me), your fighting and the general sense of disorder that many Hostel customers inflict upon us.
The Hostel is in the middle of a residential area, and one of the positive comments made about the Hostel is that it is in a nice quiet residential street. Why is it nice? Because decent working people live there. What if all the buildings were like the Hostel? It would be a slum.
When you are in a foreign country, remember that whether you like it or not, you are ambassadors for your country. How would you like people to behave like thugs in your backyard (or front yard for that matter)? Is there any culture on earth in which pissing, smoking weed, fighting or puking outside somebody’s front door is acceptable?
I strongly urge you not to stay at the Hostel. If you do, you are staying in a place that generates endless misery for local residents. Clubs in the area spring up just to attract Hostel customers, like the Snuggbar for example, which is routinely busted for dealing heroin. We are constantly fighting poor quality fast food places that serve shit food and are always applying to stay open till 3am, because of the Hostel.
Read the reviews online, and see that the best reviews are written either by ex-staff (you can get a free night by working there a few hours), or by the very people who perpetrate all the things I’ve been talking about. Puking in the corridors, noise, smoking indoors when smoking is banned in the UK in all enclosed areas used for business, smoking marijuana, no running hot water, useless English as a second language staff not much older than the customers, bed lice, and general filth.
I have met many of the staff and there is not one UK born person of any background working there. Frankly, it’s a place where only the most desperate seek employment there. Can you be sure that staff will be able to deal with any of your concerns?
Many of you are reading this and thinking, “I don’t give a shit, that’s my kind of place”.
But why come to London? This city is a world centre of finance; culture, history and tradition, with so many fine things to do and see not on offer anywhere else. What will you say when asked about London; did you experience anything unique, which you could not do in your home country? Or did you just puke your guts out on cheap watered down beer, and stay shut in the basement watching shit films? If that’s your idea of a trip of a lifetime, then please just watch a film with British accents then puke in your living room. It’s a cheaper experience and no different from what you’d do in the Hostel.
